Overview

As British forces struggled to counter the superior German heavy tanks in WWII, they made the decision to up-gun the reliable American-made M4 Sherman. The result was the Sherman Firefly, which mounted the formidable long-barrelled 17-pounder anti-tank gun. This new weapon was capable of penetrating a Tiger I's frontal armour at over 1,000 meters, making the Firefly one of the most feared Allied tanks on the battlefield.

This 1/48 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of the Sherman IC Firefly. A key feature of this series, the kit includes a die-cast metal chassis which provides realistic weight and a solid foundation.
